KEN SAWCHUK (SALCH) With great sorrow we the family announce the passing of Ken, age 58 years, at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, August 5, 2000. Kenny was employed with the Canadian Pacific Railway for 36 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Stonewall, and was part of their executive. One of his hobbies was growing garlic and onions. He leaves to cherish his memory his best friend and wife of eight years Sylvia; parents, Joel and Pauline Sawchuk; three aunts, Sophie Sawchuk, Jean Mandrick, and Anna Amborski; one uncle Joey Amborski. He will be missed by a special friend Frank Palcat; his two cats, Felix and Joey, and his dog Kasper; numerous cousins and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Frank, Eldon, Mark, Jimmy, Lawrence, and Mike. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Special thanks to the doctors, and nursing staff for all their care and compassion. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, or to the Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital. A man with a sense of humour, who spoke little words, who had lots of wisdom.
